Experience

John Yoak, a Senior Manager in Frazier & Deeter’s State and Local Tax Practice, specializes in compliance, consulting and contentious matters within the realm of state and local taxation. With a focus on nexus, allocation/apportionment, revenue sourcing, structural/organizational planning and tax mitigation strategies, John guides his clients through protests, appeals, audits and hearings before taxing authorities and other administrative bodies.

A thought leader in state and local tax, John has extensive experience in corporate income/franchise tax, sales & use tax and other business activity taxes. He works closely with diverse industry groups, including technology, cryptocurrency, biotechnology, manufacturing, retail and service.

Prior to joining the firm, John held various roles at BDO, ranging from senior associate to senior manager. He has additional experience in several managerial roles at True Partners Consulting (now Baker Tilly). Previously, John practiced as an attorney at Yoak Law, P.A., and as a senior associate at Moss Adams.
