As a manager in the firm’s Pass-through Tax Group, Matt works closely with clients both at the business and individual levels to guide them through complex and constantly changing tax laws. Matt’s experience has also positioned him to advise clients about general accounting questions, business operations and business structure issues for small to mid-sized businesses. His understanding of partnerships, S-Corporations, trusts and the associated tax impact to the individual business owners and beneficiaries makes him a valuable resource for these types of clients as he truly has a grasp on the whole picture.
Matt is well versed in tiered business structures and multi-state tax issues for a number of industries including real estate, construction, retail, hospitality and restaurants, professional services, and wholesale distribution. He also has experience working with high net worth families and individuals on their tax matters, involving both compliance and planning opportunities.
In addition to his client responsibilities, Matt is actively involved in the firm’s recruiting efforts and assists with training for both new hires and experienced staff. He also participates in internal focus groups aimed at firm-wide and tax department operations.
