The External Assessor Council provides a means for assessors to provide feedback directly to HITRUST to help influence programs and processes.

The council is comprised of 13 firms representing a broad range of experience in information security and privacy. These members’ experienced opinions and wide range of expertise offer valuable insight into the success of their respective industries and companies.
FD’s National HITRUST Practice Leader, Andrew Hicks, has been an active member of the HITRUST External Assessor Council for numerous years. Organizations seeking to obtain and maintain a valid HITRUST certification must be validated by a HITRUST-approved Assessor every two years.
