Community Service Day Supports Atlanta-Area Non-Profits

Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) August 21, 2013. Frazier & Deeter CPAs and advisors announced the firm’s first Atlanta area Community Service Day, which will take place on Friday, August 23rd.

“This is an exciting new tradition that builds on our firm’s history of supporting charities,” said Seth McDaniel, Managing Partner of Frazier & Deeter. “As a firm we believe it is important to devote time to providing hands-on support for organizations that make a difference in our community.”

Nearly 150 people from Frazier & Deeter’s staff, representing both the Atlanta and Alpharetta offices, are volunteering for four organizations:

  • The Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children,
  • The Chattahoochee Nature Center,
  • The Piedmont Park Conservancy and
  • Senior Connections.

“From helping homeless women and children and feeding senior citizens to maintaining the beauty of Piedmont Park and the Chattahoochee Nature Center we feel it is important to foster volunteerism at all levels of our organization,” said McDaniel. “We see Community Service Day as an excellent way to encourage our people to be active in their communities. We look forward to building on Frazier & Deeter Community Service Day in coming years.”

“For 29 years, the Atlanta Day Shelter’s mission has been to ease the burden of homelessness for women and children and to assist in establishing self-sufficiency. Now that the Atlanta Day Shelter is part of the Atlanta Mission, we are stronger and can better serve the needs of Atlanta’s homeless women and children,” said Jeremy Jones, Partner-in-Charge of Audit for Frazier & Deeter, and a board member of the Atlanta Mission. “This organization does critical work and I am personally dedicated to supporting them.”

“It is wonderful to see a large CPA firm like Frazier & Deeter make such a generous contribution to the Chattahoochee Nature Center,” said Lynn McIntyre, Senior Director of Community Relations of the Chattahoochee Nature Center. “Frazier & Deeter has supported our organization in many ways over the years and we were excited to be chosen for this year’s inaugural Community Service Day.”

“Corporate teams who come and pack meals with Senior Connections are always amazed at the daily need for volunteers. They truly enjoy the experience,” said Debra Furtado, Chief Executive Officer of Senior Connections. “Frazier & Deeter is setting an example for businesses who want to give back to the community.”

“Piedmont Park relies on dedicated volunteer groups like Frazier & Deeter to help keep the Park beautiful,” said Piedmont Park Conservancy President & CEO, Yvette Bowden. “Frazier & Deeter Community Day is a wonderful way to take their tradition of community service to a new level.”
