Sean Lager is a member of the Assurance and Advisory Services Practice of Frazier & Deeter. As an Assurance Partner, Sean brings more than 15 years of experience to the growth and development of the assurance and advisory practice of the firm.
Sean provides assurance and advisory services to large and middle market companies. His financial reporting experience includes global and domestic companies reporting under U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (U.S. GAAP) as well as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Sean is the national leader of the firm’s technology practice. Additionally, Sean is a partner in the firm’s real estate/hospitality and construction group. He also has significant experience with service organizations, international manufacturing & distribution companies, and broker dealers. In addition to assurance services, Sean provides a variety of consultative services on complex U.S. GAAP and IFRS accounting issues, such as accounting for leases and business combinations.
Sean has been published in well-known trade magazines and domestic and global accounting publications including the Journal of Accountancy, Chartered Accountants Magazine in Canada, and the Atlanta Business Chronicle. In addition, Sean has delivered many presentations and training programs to organizations around the globe such as the AICPA and various global accounting networks regarding accounting and financial reporting matters ranging from U.S. GAAP, IFRS, IFRS for SMEs to the global convergence of financial reporting.
Sean is a member of the AICPA’s Technical Issues Committee, which consists of CPA practitioner volunteers working to represent the views of local firms and their clients in the standards-setting process. Additionally, Sean is the North America representative of PKF International Professional Standards Committee (IPSC). The IPSC ensures that the professional standards are promulgated and communicated to PKF member firms in over 125 countries and that those standards meet appropriate recognized professional practice requirements as well as ensuring accounting and professional standards training are developed and delivered to member firms. Sean previously served as a member of the AICPA committee to establish training and IFRS certification and was featured in the AICPA’s training video “Are you Ready for IFRS: Moving Beyond the Basics”.
