Seth McDaniel Announced as Frazier & Deeter Managing Partner

January 22, 2010 (Atlanta, GA) Frazier & Deeter has elected a new managing partner. As of January 1, 2010, the role of managing partner has shifted to Seth McDaniel. McDaniel is a former director at the Public Company Accounting and Oversight Board (PCAOB). Significantly, this is the first time a non-founding partner has been named to this role.

At the PCAOB, Seth helped to develop the accounting practice inspection program that is in place today. Other responsibilities were to oversee the nationwide inspection of a Big 4 firm as well as several small firms. He also was instrumental in the evolution of the small firm inspection program. Because of his demonstrated value to the organization, he was the first person promoted within the PCAOB inspections division to Associate Director; making him the youngest Associate Director in the organization's history.

His practical experience has helped Frazier & Deeter create a methodology for assurance and audit practices that protect the interests of clients and shareholders. McDaniel's credentials also lend credibility to privately-held clients of the firm, as the rules affecting public companies slowly translate into more fiscal responsibility in the private arena.

Commenting on his role, Seth McDaniel said, “I am humbled by the opportunity to follow both Jim Frazier and David Deeter as the next managing partner of Frazier & Deeter. They have built an incredible legacy, and I look forward to continuing our traditions of exceptional client service and providing a great work experience for our people.”

The transition of McDaniel becoming managing partner stems from the corporate governance that outlines how long an individual can act in the role of managing partner at Frazier & Deeter. Over the past year, he and David Deeter have worked closely together to plan a smooth and effective transition for the firm. At 53, Deeter will continue to focus his efforts on board activity, serving his clients and practice development.

David Deeter, founding partner of Frazier & Deeter said, “Seth McDaniel will be a good leader for the continued success of Frazier & Deeter. I am looking forward to the innovations and growth the firm has plans for over the coming years.”

ABOUT SETH MCDANIEL
McDaniel joined the assurance department in 2004 and has more than 18 years of public accounting experience. In 2005, he was named the head of the Frazier & Deeter Assurance Department. McDaniel's areas of specialty include working with large and middle market companies in the public and private sector. He has experience in the service, technology, healthcare, real estate, and financial institution industries.

His career began at KPMG, where he worked until 1997.  He left to work on a specialized IPO transaction for a Georgia company. Also, he worked at Deloitte & Touche for several years before participating in the first inspections in the history of the PCAOB.
