Participants of this focus group include public and private companies that range from middle market to Fortune 100. Frazier & Deeter Appoints Bill Godshall to Head of Audit Department March 15, 2010 (Atlanta, GA) William (Bill) Godshall has been appointed by the accounting firm of Frazier & Deeter to lead the Audit Department. His career highlights fourteen years with big four accounting firms and the position of inspection leader at the Public Company Accounting and Oversight Board (PCAOB). This experience afforded him the knowledge to reengineer the Frazier & Deeter audit methodology and oversee continued quality control efforts. These factors made the decision to transition him into the department leader an easy one. Godshall has delivered numerous presentations on fair value measurements, better known as mark-to-market accounting. His involvement in large, complex IPO and M&A transactions has provided to be one of the greatest catalysts to his success. At the PCAOB, he helped to develop the training program for full-scope inspections and the inspection methodology for audits of internal control over financial reporting. He also wrote the inspection guidance for derivative accounting and auditing areas that is in place today. As of January 1, 2010, the role of managing partner has shifted to Seth McDaniel. McDaniel is a former director at the Public Company Accounting and Oversight Board (PCAOB). Significantly, this is the first time a non-founding partner has been named to this role. At the PCAOB, Seth helped to develop the accounting practice inspection program that is in place today. Other responsibilities were to oversee the nationwide inspection of a Big 4 firm as well as several small firms. He also was instrumental in the evolution of the small firm inspection program. Because of his demonstrated value to the organization, he was the first person promoted within the PCAOB inspections division to Associate Director; making him the youngest Associate Director in the organization's history. His practical experience has helped Frazier & Deeter create a methodology for assurance and audit practices that protect the interests of clients and shareholders. McDaniel's credentials also lend credibility to privately-held clients of the firm, as the rules affecting public companies slowly translate into more fiscal responsibility in the private arena. (Billy) Daniel, Jr., CPA Billy's areas of expertise and experience lie within a variety of industries, including, but not limited to; transportation, consumer products, healthcare, manufacturing, insurance and telecommunications.
