History

At Frazier & Deeter, we view our past as the roots of our distinction. Our involvement with the community, our personal touch, our authenticity, our passion for excellence, and the way we strive to help our clients succeed, balances out 30 years of serving some of the most well-respected companies and individuals in the Southeast. This vision was shared by Jim Frazier and David Deeter when they came together to establish the firm in 1981.

Many things have been cultivated from those early years. Today, the firm is the second largest independent Certified Public Accounting and Advisory firm in Georgia, whose members average nearly 30 years of experience in their respective fields. With 200 professionals, Frazier & Deeter is prepared to deliver the tax, assurance, accounting and advisory services you would expect from a CPA firm.

As the firm grew, its services expanded to better meet the needs of our clients. We branched out to formally launch one of the nation's largest CPA-based wealth management firms, SignatureFD in 1998 - and offer mortgage and insurance services through this affiliate. Most recently we introduced FD Capital Advisors, a broker dealer to help our clients with merger & acquisition services and FD Optimization, a strategic business consulting and turnaround management affiliate. We look forward to 30 more years of this innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.

Even though the landscape of Frazier & Deeter is constantly evolving, there are a few things that will always remain the same - the focus on the success and potential of our clients and people. We are proud to help middle market business owners create, enhance, and preserve wealth throughout their company's life cycle by applying a high level of technical skills combined with industry knowledge, and a sincere commitment to personal relationships.

Some of our noteable milestones include-

1981- July 1st F&D opens its doors
1982- F&D purchases its first computer
1985- Bob Woosley and Roger Lusby become partners
1986- Employed 10 people
1987- First time the firm surpassed $1 million in fees
1989- F&D joins CPAmerica
1990- Move to Harris Tower of Peachtree Center
1992- Recognized as one of Atlanta's Top 25 CPA firms by Atlanta Business Chronicle
1993- Ruth Barlett becomes a partner
1997- Shawn Fowler and J.R. Miller become partners
1998- F&D introduces F&D Advisors (now known as SignatureFD)
2000- Rhonda Striplin, Chris Etheridge and Karen Thurman become partners
2001- David Deeter named as managing partner of F&D; F&D employs more than 50 people
2002- Moved to Bank of America Plaza; F&D Foundation established; Terri Lawson becomes a partner
2003- Andy Burnett becomes a partner
2004- F&D joins PKF North American Network; Wayne Reid becomes partner
2005- F&D launched FD Capital (relaunched again later as FD Capital Advisors); F&D employs more than 100 people; Seth McDaniel becomes partner
2007- Bill Godshall, Jason Meadows, Jeremy Sperring, Chris Kyriakakis and Linda Schaeffer become partners
2008- F&D Ranked among the top 100 firms in the U.S. for the 1st time; Sean Lager and Michael Warren become partners
2009- F&D Recognized as the #1 Best Firm to Work for in the U.S by Accounting Today; F&D opens Alpharetta office; Kris Spain and Jeremy Jones become partners
2010- Seth McDaniel named managing partner of F&D; Barbara Borczak becomes a partner
2011- Frazier & Deeter acquires Faucett, Taylor & Associates and grows to 200 professionals; Jeff James and Edgar Moore become partners
2012 - LeighAnn Costley joins as a partner
